Matthew and Mary were among the many kissing couples on Sunday's episode of "Downton Abbey."
By Ree Hines
Love was in the air on Sunday night's drama-packed episode of "Downton Abbey" ? well, that and one unfortunate round of the Spanish flu.
With the war over, romance was naturally on everyone's mind, and more than one of the main characters decided to celebrate that with a smooch. In fact, there were at least four noteworthy lip locks over the course of the two-hour episode.
The most anticipated kiss of the night had to be the one between everyone's favorite star-crossed couple, Matthew and Mary. Of course, as their luck would have it, the beautiful moment later became the stuff of guilt and regret (and plenty of "curse" talk) after Matthew's intended, Lavinia, fell to the flu.
The most unexpected kiss was shared by Lord Grantham and the widowed maid Jane. But with Cora suffering from a not-quite-Lavinia-worthy bout of the flu, too, the spark soon went out on the brief almost-affair.
One kiss that seemed inevitable was the one between Sybil and revolution-loving chauffeur Branson. It was a long time coming, and it's obviously far from the last for the pair, as Lord Grantham gave his ever-so-reluctant consent for them to marry.
And lastly, there was the sweetest kiss -- the one Bates planted on his new bride, Anna. (It's about time!)
So tell us, after watching all of the lip-lock action, which kiss was the best? Take our poll below and share your thoughts on our Facebook page.
Which "Downton Abbey" couple shared the best kiss?
